Karen has a background in banking law acting as bank counsel for numerous national and local lending institutions, as well as for wholesale mortgage bankers. Since joining Katz & Matz years ago, she shifted her focus to representing sellers and purchasers of almost any type of property. Karen has become particularly adept at assisting clients with their single and multi-family home purchases and sales throughout NYC, the surrounding suburbs and frequently works on transactions all throughout the Hamptons. Prior to commencing her legal career, Karen provided case management, advocacy and supportive services for homeless families and individuals. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Prior to joining Katz & Matz, Kacey represented institutional lenders in consolidation, extension and modification agreements; real property/cooperative apartment refinances; and home equity line closings. Kacey also served as counsel and transfer agent to cooperative corporations, advocated for lenders in foreclosure settlement conferences and represented individuals in real estate and commercial litigation. Kacey resides in Brooklyn where she loves spending time with her husband and son. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Prior to joining Katz & Matz, Adam gained experience in both litigation and transactional law. He worked in the public sector for the City of New York and for a private litigation firm. Since becoming an associate of the firm, he gained a great deal of experience working with the partners and colleagues within the firm on all types of transactions. Adam has established himself as a go-to attorney for numerous brokers and also receives many referrals from former clients, which is a testament to his professionalism, calm demeanor and wonderful people skills. Adam's goal is to provide a smooth and stress-free transaction for all clients. He prides himself on keeping all parties updated throughout each stage of the deal, as well as being extremely responsive and accessible. When not in closings, Adam enjoys playing golf and watching Michigan Football.

Steven enjoyed great success prior to entering the residential real estate world as a litigator, prevailing in over 85 percent of his trials. Outside of litigation, he also worked in the public sector with the NYPD and had a brief stint in politics with Congressman Steve Israel. Steven brings his trial acumen to real estate transactions, where his attention to detail, amazing people skills and responsiveness are immediately evident and appreciated by all who are lucky enough to work with him. Steven’s goal in all of his transactions is to be extremely efficient, organized and transparent throughout the whole process. As the Director of the Banking Department at Katz & Matz, Kyle has vast experience in representing different types of lenders in all phases of purchases and refinances. He specializes in residential and construction-lender representation on behalf of numerous institutional and non-traditional lenders. Kyle has closed many types of conventional and non-conventional loans including New York CEMAs, business purpose loans, government sponsored programs (VA and FHA), REO foreclosures, short-sales and reverse mortgages. Beginning his career in the title industry, Kyle also has experience in title clearance and strives to ensure quality and responsiveness throughout the entire transaction.

When not in the office Kyle enjoys rooting for his beloved New York Islanders and is an avid golfer. He is admitted to practice in New York.

Constantine Kalogiannis, Esq. Associate

Constantine started out his legal career working for two law firms with a focus on commercial and residential real estate transactional work, real estate litigation and general civil litigation. After practicing for approximately four years in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Long Island, Constantine moved to a business development role at a legal services company. Constantine has now returned to practicing real estate law, having gained valuable project management and client relationship management skills. Constantine brings a personal and responsive approach to all of his work, giving each client the attention and communication they deserve in their legal representation. He prides himself on providing a superior client experience and exceptional work product. Constantine is originally from Queens and is fluent in Greek. He is the father of two rescue puppies and one Greek turtle. Constantine is admitted to practice in New York.
